I must say that this was a pretty tough one to choose from, but it came down between Weller and Hakko FX888D for me. The cost of the Hakko is roughly $40 more than the P2KC series, which made my decision easier in favor of Wellers!
I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a reliable soldering iron to consider the Weller P-Series. The only thing I would say that it needs work on, which may be addressed in future versions of this model, are some minor design flaws. For example, the placement and size of the power cord could have been better placed as well as redesigned so you can replace them with your own cables if necessary.
This device is perfect for short circuit repairs or even through-hole PCB assemblies! Definitely worth considering over other models out there!
